Elliott Bloodstock Services was founded by Alex Elliott, who combines a deep understanding of the equine athlete with in depth form analysis and an intricate knowledge of pedigrees. These attributes, allied to his close relationships with some of the world’s greatest trainers, has quickly lead to success on the global stage.

 

A diverse education has given Alex an extremely strong understanding of the thoroughbred business on a global scale and he is now using this experience to specialize in the selecting of high quality bloodstock. Alex works closely with classic winning trainers Ralph Beckett and Michael Bell, whilst in America Christophe Clement, Simon Callaghan and Doug O'Neil are loyal clients.

His passion and knowledge of National Hunt racing has led to the purchase of numerous ‘store’ and proven horses for clients including Cheltenham Festival winning trainers, Tom George and Henry De Bromhead.

 

Having grown up around horses Alex spent three years under top National Hunt trainer Philip Hobbs after leaving Oundle School. These formative years were followed by a scholarship on the Darley Flying Start Program where he worked on HH Sheikh Mohammed al Maktoum’s stud farms in Ireland, England, America, Australia and Dubai whilst also working with world renowned trainers including Christophe Clement, Saeed Bin Suroor and Sir Michael Stoute.

Upon graduation Alex returned to Freemason Lodge, to spend a season with Sir Michael Stoute before moving to America and taking up position as assistant to Christophe Clement, working in both Florida and New York.

 

In 2009 Alex was approached by leading trainer Eoin Harty, to head up the training of his California division. Colonel John, Well Armed, Victor's Cry and American Lion are to name but a few of the top class performers that were in the barn during Alex's tenure. He returned to the UK in mid 2012 and began assisting leading bloodstock agent Jamie McCalmont. Whilst working under the McCalmont Bloodstock banner Alex advised the purchase of numerous stakes winners including No Jet Lag, Annecdote, She's Complete, Birdlover and Rhagori.

 

This education has given Alex an extremely strong understanding of the thoroughbred business on a global scale and he is now using this experience to specalize in the selection of high quality bloodstock.
